Why Pampered Aesthetics Went Country

Our relocation shocked a lot of people. It wasn’t something that we spoke about much, like anything when we put our minds to something we do it. Our priority has always been our children, raising good humans and providing them the best opportunities possible. We never realized just how small our world really was in our space until Covid hit. A small backyard, which was fairly large for town surrounded by neighbours. Keeping the children locked up inside watching the world pass them by had its effect on both of them mentally. Us adults too, even the dogs. We were always on the go living for new experiences. This is when we invested in a water side trailer, giving us the opportunity to watch them be children once again. Playing outside on the large property laughing and smiling very much the life we wanted for them. Life became waiting for every other weekend for us to get away. That wasn’t necessarily healthy teaching them to wait to be able to live their life. We wanted them to experience joy in the life they were living. Tanner never quite enjoyed living in town, having to drive or walk to his shop to be able to work on his projects. He always wanted our life to be at one location, it was becoming increasingly evident we were living where we were for me. My home the last thing my mum and I really picked out together, and I was holding on it so tightly. The thing is my mum never put value in things, in the aspect of objects. The line she used to repeat the most often ‘if money can fix it, it’s not really a problem’. I never fully nor truly understood this statement until I lost her. We started looking at options, multiple offers, bidding wars, horrible real estate agents that if their clients only knew and of course, disappointment. We decided to list our house, at this point in time we were interested in what we fondly call the no -no house, insert bad agents here. As our offers kept coming back no, it was really strange without our house being listed their agents wanted photos of our house etc. Still all this time later I find it super strange. Can we just talk about house showings for a minute? What a major inconvenience they are packing up elderly dogs and getting them out of the house for the day all of us annoyed in the process. Usually, the same person coming back to see it time after time, only to keep saying they can’t afford it. Cool then stop making me clean, lol unpopular opinion I suppose. This house kept coming up in our search, my answer was the same every time our real estate agent sent it. Hello Tacky!! The colours, the décor, no freaken thank you. With hours to kill Tanner decided we were going to check out the open house. I was less than impressed, he bribed me with a tea, and we were on our way. We drove to what I was quite certain was the middle of nowhere. No neighbours to be seen, which terrifies me in the event of emergency and myself not driving. We passed field after field and pull into a bumpy as heck driveway just as the rain sets in… Great! The first thing I see was this strange little outbuilding covered in license plates, I can’t even reach the top to get the bloody things off I think to myself. These are all things I take into consideration, the output required to get it up to our style/ standard. Walking inside from the rain was like a warm hug. We were greeted by a home that looked like it was decorated from a country living magazine. But the bones were good. It had the most massive kitchen. The master bedroom was half the house. I watched Tanner stand with his hands on his hips looking out of the downstairs office. This is Pampered Aesthetics this room right here. There was a small shop on premise for him to condense most of his belongings into. Across the street was conservation, no neighbours and a safe area for the kids to play. Almost 5 acres of land for them to roam around on. We left to “talk about it” Tanner had already made up his mind. I can’t say the house was beautiful it was tackily decorated, smelled of rotting cheese but it had good bones. It was the most massive house I had seen. It said family in every room, a simpler life for the children. And ugly was only a paint brush away from beautiful. Children who grow up in the countryside, experience a different lifestyle that can offer a range of benefits. In general, the air quality in rural areas is cleaner and fresher than in urban areas. This means that children who grow up in the countryside are less likely to suffer from respiratory problems and allergies. Children who grow up in the countryside have more opportunities for outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, and playing in nature. These activities provide children with more opportunities for physical exercise and can help them develop strong muscles, coordination, and balance. Growing up in the countryside exposes children to nature on a regular basis. This exposure can help children develop an appreciation for nature and a desire to protect it. Research has shown that children who have a strong connection to nature are more likely to engage in environmentally sustainable behaviours as they get older. In rural areas, children often have more opportunities to interact with people of all ages, including neighbours, relatives, and other community members. This can help children develop strong social skills, empathy, and a sense of community. A strong sense of community and belonging is something we feel very strongly about wanting for them. Compared to city life, the pace of life in the countryside is generally slower, and there is less noise and commotion. This can help children feel less stressed and more relaxed, which can be beneficial for their mental health and well-being. Living in the countryside often requires more self-sufficiency, as resources and services are not as readily available as in urban areas. This can help children develop a sense of independence and self-reliance. While Cobourg would always have my heart is was very apparent our family needed more room to grow and develop together. More space as the children got older, where they weren’t living on top of each other. But most importantly whatever happened in the future they had room to run and play in our own backyard and fresh air. None of these reasons really pertain to the spa I suppose however that in itself was its own opportunity. There were not spas on every corner, in fact they were spread far out which was extremely promising for clientele in the area. Giving opportunity to a larger spa. With its very own entrance which was needed for quite sometime now. The business being its own entity, in the house but also as if it wasn’t there. Stats Canada is always a good resource when looking into the population of an area. The neat thing about Cramahe too there were so many at home businesses. Pampered Aesthetics would have the opportunity to grow in ways it wouldn’t be possible staying where we were.
