Why Our Product Line is Called Not a VIP

Most people assume Not a VIP was just a clever way of saying, “luxury results without luxury pricing.” That’s not untrue—but it’s also not the real story. The name comes from something much more personal, a little more sinister, and a lot more honest.

Pampered Aesthetics wasn’t built to fit into the white, bright, poppy beauty market. We’ve never been the glossy plastic-bottle kind of brand. Before Not a VIP, we had a private label line—pick from three creams, slap your name on it, and there you go. Except that wasn’t me. I wanted black labels on sleek packaging, but even that was “discouraged” because it didn’t fit the industry’s pastel-and-perfect standard.

It was after the fire, during our long rebuild, that I finally gave in and settled for something that never felt right. My husband warned me against it, but when I set my mind to something, I see it through. That’s when everything changed.

One day, the owner of that company made a comment—directed at my 13-year-old daughter Paige—that would burn itself into me forever. She had been so excited to pick up a prepaid order I had been waiting far too long for, knowing customers were asking and waiting. In that moment, she was told, “Your mother is not a VIP.”

Fair? Maybe. But also, completely tone-deaf. Customer service matters, and dismissing not just me but saying it in front of a child—my child—told me everything I needed to know. That company and I did not share the same morals. And if you know me, you know morals are everything.

That day, I decided I would never again align myself with people or companies that belittled me, my family, or my vision.

So we leveled up. We partnered with a cosmetic chemist who saw value in us as people, who loved our unapologetic black labels and our fuck-the-system mentality. That’s when Not a VIP was born—not as a rejection of luxury, but as a rebellion against an industry that told us we’d never make it if we didn’t tone ourselves down.

And here’s the truth: those comments didn’t just come from competitors. They came from friends. From people who told us we had to soften, to make ourselves more “digestible.” But that’s not who we are, and that’s not how we’re raising our children.

Not a VIP is for the black sheep, the misunderstood, the ones who walk into rooms and know they don’t fit in—and choose to stand tall anyway. Every client we serve is a VIP, because we know your choice to support us is what keeps food on our table. We will never forget that.

So try our Not a VIP line if you dare. Dare to be bold. Dare to be different. Dare to be seen, even when the room doesn’t understand you.

Because we’ve lived it. And we’ve built something for the ones who refuse to shrink.
