Who we Are

Who we Are

It was brought to my attention, by my daughter that I am writing a blog but have never taken time to introduce ourselves, so that you understand our voice. I am of opinion that if you are on our website, you probably know who we are and perhaps a little too much about our lives, as we tend to share a lot. However, after much debate and “Oh Mother’s “much to my avail I was not winning this argument so here I am starting a new blog post with a seething glare staring back at me. So, much like a dating site here I am introducing myself to the world. My name is Jess, I’m 34 years old married, with two delightful children. Paige is my oldest at 13 years old, she is the light of my life though much reminds me of Wednesday Addams. You will find her hissing at her father, giving looks of disgust when asked to do a task that she does not feel is in her best interest, she plots taking over the world, and sometimes I must refrain her from killing her brother. Which in marches Landon, he is 10 years old. He is a self-proclaimed Momma’s boy, who has hit that age for boys. You know the one everyone tells you about, but your son is younger, and you just couldn’t imagine your sweet angel boy turning into the spawn of Satan? Well, we are there now which pairs well with a teenage girl when they decide to bicker. In that mix we have a 4 year old rescue French bulldog who is on anti-psychotics, you know the story he’s perfect, there’s nothing wrong with him, and a 10 month old puppy who is just learning life on his own, after losing our 13 year old dog, Lillith. He thought of her as his Momma. She was the heartbeat of our family. To say that life can be chaos at times is a bit of an understatement. We are what one might call a bit of a strange family. We are dark and twisty with a flair for the macabre. There very rarely is a room that we enter that we fit into, but that doesn’t seem to phase us. We will continue to be our authentic selves unapologetically. You will often find old 50’s style romantic date night music playing as we cook dinner. Reminding us of an era long since passed, one we aren’t so quick to forget. We want our children to grow up witnessing slow dances in the kitchen. We aren’t the traditional food styles either, myself I have a tomato allergy and don’t eat meat, Tanner is vegan, Landon is dairy and gluten free, Paige has no food restrictions so to speak. But we are a large cooking family right from scratch. When asked to describe a perfect Sunday, Paige often highlights cooking with Mum. Though if I am going to be honest Landon is by far the better kitchen helper. Breads from scratch and canning are the next on our to do list of learning. Just a regular 50’s housewife over here and I absolutely love it. Ensuring that our family eats whole foods is so important to us. Tanner is so much of Pampered Aesthetics, though its usually the behind-the-scenes stuff. Building, photography video editing, and most times my sanity. I wouldn’t be where I am today without his constant annoyances and pushing me to do the things I don’t like to do. This is the madness that is our family, in a brief summary. I’m very confused on how to end this blog post as I have two goblins telling me two very different versions of how they think it should be done. I am currently only one coffee into the day with 10% battery power, with no hydro … So, I must figure this out quickly and not dwell on it. The older bossier one has left so this means Landon wins this round. He wants you to know this is the inner workings of our family, and that your sworn to this secret about the plans to take over the world. They weren’t ready to announce that yet.
