When Pinterest Fails and Your Husband Gives Your Chins a Solo Feature

One of the struggles of not being mainstream in your industry? Idea generation. Especially when it comes to branding shoots. You see, when your aesthetic doesn’t quite fit into the clean, minimalist, white-robes-and-glass-jars vibe that dominates Pinterest boards, finding inspiration feels a lot like shouting into the void: “Hello? Anyone else out there with a darker palette and a love for moody elegance?”

Usually, I stumble across an idea that kind of works, drag Tanner behind the camera, and off we go. He’s a great sport—willing, patient, and armed with a camera—but there’s one tiny (double) issue: he gives my chins a debut of their own. Not exactly the “book with me, I know what I’m doing” look I’m going for. Don’t get me wrong, we’ve made it work.

But let’s be honest, when your photographer is also your husband, directing the shoot turns into a romantic comedy… minus the Hollywood budget and flattering lighting.

So here’s the exciting part: We’ve finally hired a professional photographer. One whose work we’ve admired for years but somehow never thought to incorporate into our branding. I won’t spoil the surprise (because what's the fun in that?), but let’s just say the vibe is about to glow up hard. The shoot is happening next month, and I can’t wait to share what unfolds. Think elevated, moody, unapologetically Pampered Aesthetics. It's going to feel like us—finally. So if you’ve ever felt like your business doesn’t quite fit the Pinterest-perfect mold… you’re not alone. Stay tuned. The best is yet to come.
