Mompreneur Chronicles: Juggling Kids, Clients, and Craziness
Life as a mompreneur isn’t for the faint of heart. You don’t just juggle—you practically run a three-ring circus of responsibilities, expectations, and deadlines. For me, it’s a daily dance of balancing my teenagers’ schedules, keeping Pampered Aesthetics thriving, and still finding a moment to enjoy a cup of coffee while it’s hot. Spoiler alert: the coffee rarely stays warm.
Being a mom to Paige, my creative 15-year-old bracelet maker extraordinaire, and Landon, my 12-year-old with endless energy, brings joy, challenges, and plenty of teachable moments. Add in the role of running a small aesthetic business from home, and the word “multitasking” takes on a whole new meaning. Here’s a peek into how I juggle kids, clients, and everything in between—and a few survival tips for those walking a similar path.
Mornings are a blur of school drop-off, coffee refills, setting Paige up for her homeschooling and mentally preparing for a day of appointments. It’s a race against the clock, ensuring that Landon is out the door on time while setting up for the first client of the day. Pro tip: Keep a running to-do list, but don’t be afraid to laugh when it inevitably derails.
There’s something magical about connecting with clients—helping someone feel beautiful and confident makes the long hours worthwhile. However, running a business from home means interruptions are a given. From kids barging into the studio with “urgent” homework questions to the occasional farm animal-related fiasco (yes, really), you learn to roll with it.
Teenagers have a knack for keeping life interesting. Paige’s passion for her bracelet-making business, Little Miss Pampered, inspires me daily. Watching her creativity blossom reminds me when I sometimes forget why I started Pampered Aesthetics in the first place—to create something meaningful and empowering. Landon, meanwhile, keeps me grounded with his unfiltered honesty and ability to find humor in everything.
Here’s the thing: you can’t pour from an empty cup. Amid the chaos, I make self-care a priority. Whether it’s a quick face mask between clients or a stolen moment to journal, those little acts recharge me. I remind myself (and other moms in the same boat) that taking care of yourself isn’t selfish—it’s necessary.
Balancing business and motherhood isn’t perfect. I’ve learned to accept that some days are just messy, and that’s okay. My children see me working hard, chasing dreams, and sometimes failing spectacularly. But they also see resilience, determination, and love woven into every choice I make.
To every mom juggling her own version of the circus: you’re doing great. Whether your balance is a graceful pirouette or a wobbly two-step, it’s yours, and it’s beautiful. Give yourself grace, embrace the mess, and remember—you’re setting an incredible example for your kids.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, there’s a client waiting and a teenage drama brewing down the hall. Welcome to the life of a mompreneur—messy, magical, and absolutely worth it.
