From Foot Soaks to Horse Stalls: A New Chapter at Pampered Aesthetics

There’s a bit of a shift happening behind the doors of our dark and dreamy little home spa—and for once, I’m not the one holding the tools or answering the door.
These days, you’re more likely to find me tucked just inside the house, quietly bribing the dogs with treats to keep the barking at bay while my daughter Paige works away in the studio, confidently building her own clientele, experience, and future. And let me tell you… I’ve never been prouder to take the back seat.
At just 15, Paige is learning what it means to hold space for others—one pedicure at a time. She’s mastering more than cuticle care. She’s learning to manage her schedule, navigate product reorders, communicate with clients, and handle the not-so-glamorous parts of customer service. All the tiny, essential lessons that form the bedrock of entrepreneurship.
But here’s the part that really gets me: Paige isn’t just doing this for the money, or because it’s convenient, or even because I asked her to. She’s doing it with a dream in her back pocket—one she’s not afraid to speak out loud.
She wants to own a horse boarding barn someday. A big one. With pastures and paddocks and the scent of hay hanging in the air. And every foot scrub and polish she completes is a small step toward that goal.
It’s a beautiful thing to witness your child chase something they care about. Even more beautiful when they do it with grace, responsibility, and hustle.
If you find yourself in Paige’s chair—whether it’s for a pedicure or just to chat while she preps your soak—know that you’re not just supporting a local business. You’re helping a young woman build the foundation of her dream. And while I may no longer be the one behind the polish bottles, I’m still here—just on the other side of the door—cheering her on and making sure the dogs behave.
Because every dream starts somewhere.
And sometimes? It starts with feet in a warm bath and a little girl who decided to believe in herself.
