Aging is a part of life that is bound to happen, however there are certain beauty habits that can accelerate this process and make your skin look older than it is. UV rays from the sun can cause damage to your skin, leading to fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots. It’s important to wear sunscreen every day, even when it is cloudy to protect your skin from those damaging rays. Don’t skip the exfoliation. Exfoliating helps to remove dead skin cells and improve the overall texture of your skin. Skipping this can lead to a buildup of dead skin cells, which in turn can make your skin look dull and uneven. Harsh scrubs, there is a bit of a caveat to exfoliating. It is important to be careful, too harsh of an exfoliant /scrub can cause more damage then good. Potentially causing irritation and inflammation to the skin, which in turn leads to fine lines and wrinkles. Not removing your makeup at night. Sleeping in your makeup can lead to clogged pores and breakouts. It’s very important to remove your makeup every night to keep your skin not only clean but healthy. Not cleansing properly. Not cleansing your skin properly can leave behind dirt, oil and makeup, which can clog your pores and lead to breakouts. Make sure to use a gentle cleanser, and to cleanse your skin twice a day. Sleeping on your face. Sleeping on your face can cause wrinkles and creases. Try to sleep on your back to avoid fine lines and wrinkles Using hot water to cleanse. Hot water can strip your skin of its natural oils, leaving it dry and irritated. Use lukewarm water instead Over washing your face. Stick to the twice a day so that you’re not stripping your skin of its natural oils leading to not only dryness but irritation. Not using moisturizer. Not using moisturizer can cause your skin to become dry and flaky, leading to wrinkles and fine lines.
