10 Times to Recognize Your Business
Share
They say it takes ten times seeing your name for people to trust you enough to do business with you. I remember reading this fact, it didn’t pertain to me at the time having an already established business. In the aftermath of the fire these numbers seem so daunting. We are starting fresh which seems exciting, and it is, but it's also equally terrifying. Years’ worth of marketing and ads don’t mean anything as we’ve sat stagnant and moved to a new area. Machines that were carefully budgeted for and added over the years, which we are no longer afforded that luxury…you cannot open with less than you once did. Suddenly the gambles you take with business knowing your clientele are no longer safe business decisions. Everything is unknown and new including our opening date.
It’s an interesting way to live. Life has so many unknowns. As a human with severe anxiety, unknowns are something I avoid with every fibre of my being. One can only loosely estimate an opening, the reality is we are at someone else’s time frame and mercy. I can honestly say that has been the most stressful experience of my life. As a business owner that’s been limited from being able to make an income. All while needing more income than before trying to live a normal life while owning nothing. But also, as a parent without the answers to give my children, not wanting to get their hopes up, but at the same time not wanting them to feel like back home will never happen. Living with your own brokenness while only presenting the rainbows, not wanting the goblins to see the anger.
Anger itself a new emotion since life went sideways. Knowing only full well my children were robbed of a year of their childhood. Only that year is now creeping forward, and I’m terrified of it being a year and a half. It’s an extremely helpless feeling not being able to control your own fate.
We’ve made enough plans both business and personal to fill an entire lifetime.
When we get back home seems to be the most commonly used phrase in our household.
But not everything is on pause. In this time we have released our own private label products that align with our values. This lifetime goal was made achievable. Our logo is hanging out on the bathroom counters in Trent Hills and beyond we are so grateful for the time and opportunity to make this happen.
In high school I wanted to be a published author, that dream seemed to fizzle and fade away, as life seemed to happen. As I’m sure you can guess reading this, the extra time has granted the opportunity to start a blog. It is a far cry from being a published author, but it’s a step in the right direction.
I don’t want my children seeing us be a victim of our own circumstance but by doing the best we can with the hand we’ve been dealt. Our forced pivot so to speak.
We’ve met new people that presented new opportunities along the way. Old Jess wouldn’t have been comfortable enough to take the opportunity presented. New Jess is saying yes to business opportunities a little bit more now. Not always is it successful, but we can say we tried. There are no what ifs.
In pursuit of seeing our name ten times we did our first ever vendor market as a family where we learned Landon is the most social of the family; handing out samples, talking to complete strangers and running the table. We did a Facebook live; we’ve reached out to new contacts, we’ve reconnected with old friends, and we have repaired broken relationships along the way.
The last year has been one of so much personal growth, letting go of things and people that no longer serve the mindset we were trying to achieve. 2023 we hit the ground running and hope to do the same when we are able to open our doors.
Our family values have never changed but we have most certainly levelled up our business goals. Pampered Aesthetics is a labour of love by the entire family it wouldn’t exist as it does without the work everyone puts in.
We are excited to open our doors to service our new community, that it’s taken a hot minute to become a part of.
