Why I Don’t Want to Grow Bigger (But I Do Want to Grow Better)”
—The confessions of a small-town aesthetician who’s learning the ropes of online sales, one awkward click at a time.
There’s this assumption in business: If you’re not scaling up, you’re falling behind. If you’re not hiring a team, opening a second location, or renting a warehouse the size of a Costco, are you even really succeeding?
Well—pull up a chair, because I’ve got a confession.
I don’t want to grow bigger. I don’t want to manage 10 staff. I don’t want to move into a clinical-looking strip mall spa with fluorescent lights and zero personality. And I definitely don’t want to lose the messy, meaningful magic that built this brand in the first place.
What I do want? To grow better. Wiser. Sharper. And way more confident in the things that make me wildly uncomfortable… like online sales, marketing funnels, email sequences, and everything that doesn’t involve a steamer, a serum, or a set of tweezers.
The Unsexy Truth Behind Product Expansion
I’ve poured my soul into these products. Every balm, elixir, and serum has been tested, and refined more times than I can count, the packaging the branding all of it—usually between feeding the animals, homeschooling my kids, and explaining to people why there’s a goat outside the spa window.
But here’s the plot twist: Amazing products is only half the battle. Selling them online is a whole other beast. And if I’m being honest? I’m a little terrified.
E-commerce isn’t my comfort zone. Algorithms confuse me. SEO feels like a foreign language. And don’t even get me started on Shopify integrations—those have nearly sent me to the grave more than once. We are still in the process of moving over from go daddy a never ended sore spot.
But I’m learning. I’m showing up. I’m fumbling forward.
Because I believe these products deserve to be seen. I believe in what I’ve made. And I believe there’s a woman out there—maybe in another province, maybe in another country—who needs that enchanted jar of “Not A VIP” sitting on my shelf right now.
The Mission: Focus & Fire
So for the next stretch of the year, I’m going all in on the product side of Pampered Aesthetics. Not because I’m abandoning facials (never!)—but because this part of the business deserves my full focus.
I want:
  • Our skincare on bathroom counters across the country
  • Our serums featured in other spas
  • And our story—this wild blend of rural life, resilience, and results—to be heard by more people than ever before
It won’t be polished. It might not be perfect. But it will be real, and it will be mine.
What This Means for You
If you’ve been watching Pampered Aesthetics grow from a one-woman show into a family-run experience, now is the time to stick around. Things are changing—but not in the “corporate takeover” kind of way.
In the "let’s get laser-focused and intentional" kind of way.
You’ll see new products. You’ll hear a lot more from me about what’s inside them, why they matter, and who they’re made for. And if you’ve ever thought about grabbing one but weren’t sure where to start—this is your sign.
Help me grow this dream. Not bigger. But better.
Need a product recommendation? Want to help a slightly-overwhelmed aesthetician get better at this whole “online business” thing? Click around. Ask questions. Leave a review. Share a post. You’d be amazed how far that ripple goes.
And to the tech gods of Shopify: please be gentle. I’m just a girl with a serum and a dream.
